Well I was just saying, when you had that page up why did you not install vbulletin behind it and get it all set up then remove the front page and expose the forum.
I doubt I will be here I have my own celtic forum, was just checking my keyword ranks and I seen this was here.
Well your already ranked on a not bad keyword because of your forum name so you have a little boost there.
When I seen the page I was expecting for it to open with something quite nice, well I will see how you go hope you do well despite the nooby start ;)

Gaffney, thanks!
The start may seem a bit nooby but we're not at all. The decision to install the forum was made by myself today to finally get it going. I had been putting it off since May and decided I had to finally do it or I never would make time for it due to our other sites taking up a lot of time. My designer is currently travelling from Canada to Australia so thats why the design isn't up. It will come together very soon.
I've been in the business for over 8 years now, not in this type of site tho. We specialize in other stuff which I can't post here. I seen your forum already, not a bad forum. Good luck with it too.
As for the domain I was very shocked it wasn't snapped up. Probably due to our experience that we thought of getting something like this tho. Our other forums are pretty big so we have a good idea of how it will do.
Just a few facts about our forum
1. Its hosted on Tier 1 Premium bandwidth on a 1gigabit open line.
2, We're running vbulletin since it's backed by such a big community. This way we can offer our forum members the most innovative and advance forum technology to make their visit more enjoyable and unforgettable. We also have EXTENSIVE knowledge of vBulletin for many years now.
3. Its run by proper Celtic fans and season ticket holders. We're not a bunch of guys trying to make some money here. We do well in other internet ventures.
4, I have access to a top designer, seo specialist and a team of technicians. This forum will be Celtic fans one stop for gossip, transfer rumours and whatever else Celtic fans want.
Thanks

Well I was looking at domains and I did search for this but am sure it was owned by a domain thief company which buys up hundreds of domains and then seeks to get a bargain, but they must have gave up a while ago.
So I got the next best SEO term, it's working well managed to get above pagerank 3+4 sites on google and CT has went up to pagerank 2 after a year and a half.
IMO, IPB is much better, it does lack a few mods but most of them will be coming to IPB3 soon such as the vbookie, arcade and it already has a few SEO programs. I wanted CelticTalk to be unique and different from every other site from the core.

It looks pretty good, swung by there today and read some threads, good job on it.
I would suggest exchanging hard links but since we're going after the same keywords its probably not the best idea. The guy posting on here as Vallento is my wizard, he is a master in google, he will have this site up there in no time I think. He does very well with his blogs etc, he has many PR5 blogs. He knows his stuff.
Have a great weekend Gaffney, Me and the guys are hitting the club to celebrate the soft launch of the forum :)

Yeh a link would be good for seo but perhaps we are to close I go with links on the bigger sites like twitter etc and then like scottish football blogs.
My seo isn't great atm, my meta title's aren't what I want them to be, the mod will be changed soon to let me put what I want up there.
Hey gaffney, i like your site mate, it's good to see celtic fans really loving the club enough to put in this work.
As for This forum... I'm pretty sure it's going to be a huge success.... As Ross said, he has plenty of success with his online projects but this forum is a result of a die hard celtic fan, who isn't interested in profit, but giving celtic fans an online community!
I'm sure you and ross should stick together to make both sites great!
Mon the hoops!!!:D

Well generally Forums are not set up for money as they are very inefficient, the closest to that is celtic minded.
I don't know why they did their to be a member you have to pay £5 or £10 thing, why do they have a dedicated server as a reseller could easily host their site.
250GB a month bandwidth and 25GB space, can cost $25 a month, am quite sure celtic minded will not use even half of that.
Am quite sure they just done that to make a profit and they probably are making a decent amount.
Like Jon says, celticfcforum.com isn't opened to make money, its here to serve a purpose. Its here to give true hoops fans a place to vent, a place to air their discontent, to speak their minds. We will all get behind Celtic, thats what true fans do, but we have an opinion, an objective opinion on how OUR team should do. No one can take that away from us, as season ticket holders, as share holders, as fans, as people! Celtic FC is more than a football club, its a lifestyle, a way of life, a status... CELTIC FC is our life.... its what we know and its what we do.
Hail Hail!
oh and PS, celticfcforum.com is hosted at a dedicated hosting company, complete with 24/7 tech staff to help in any way they can. We're the real deal, we're not some newcomers hoping to be a success... WE ARE CELTICFCFORUM.COM.
Thanks
Admin.
